Dear Group,

I am aware of the fact that this posting is off-topic.
A similar question was posted in comp.lang.postscript
and (comp.text.tex---also off-topic) but received no
replies. If anybody knows a better place to pose this
question then please let me know.

My problem is as follows.

I have just installed solaris 2.8 on my ultrasparc.
When I tried to install ghostscript I ran into troubles
because it diddn't seem to be able to find certain
pbf-files. I have exported and set the GS_FONTPATH and the
GS_LIB_DEFAULT variables. The files in these paths
are all readable.

$ ls $GS_FONTPATH/n021023l.pfb
/newdisk/dongen/software/gnugs/fonts//n021023l.pfb
$ echo ls $GS_LIB_DEFAULT/n021023l.pfb
ls /newdisk/dongen/software/gnugs/fonts//n021023l.pfb

Nevertheless I get the following when using gs.

I have this problem both with ghostscript 6.0 and gnu
ghostscript 5.5. Is there something I am missing?
Any suggestions as to how to solve this?

Thanks in advance.
