pdf file watching

Hi,

this is probably a faq, but i did not find it.

I'm using gv, gs, pdflatex as they were distributed with suse linux
7.0. (gv 3.5.8, gs 5.50, pdftex 3.14159-13d).

When compiling a tex to a pdf and having gv watching the file, gv
tries to reload the file and then produces an error message:

GNU Ghostscript: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1
Error: /syntaxerror in readxrefentry
Operand stack:
   --dict:5/5(L)-- Contents 1841 3 0 3 0 n
Execution stack:
   %interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval--
--nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval--
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- false 1 %stopped_push 1
3 %oparray_pop .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval--
--nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval--
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval--
--nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval--
--nostringval-- --nostringval--
Dictionary stack:
   --dict:915/1241(G)-- --dict:0/20(G)-- --dict:55/200(L)--
--dict:78/127(G)-- --dict:139/152(G)-- --dict:14/15(L)--
--dict:1/2(L)-- --dict:13/20(L)--
Current allocation mode is local
Current file position is 303

This happens often but not always and it happens with a lot of
different tex-files. Dismissing the error message and pressing
"Redisplay" solves the problem temporarily.

How can I avoid this pressing buttons?

Yours
Jan
