I guess that a correct course would be to collect information about X 
systems that allow UTF-8 locales. I'm myself a XFree86 developer, 
I'll try to get some sound information about those issues. :-)

I nevertheless think that all systems running XFree86 handle UTF-8 
input as my system (except that they surely don't have the Compose 
table that I used, which is XF86 beta code - but they should handle
AltGr-E as EuroSign -> Euro in UTF-8 as on my system).

I must admit I use Mule-UCS. :-)

I guess you're right. What are the current plans on Unicode support 
in GNU/Emacs ?
