This started happening pretty recently.
To reproduce:
Use topics in the group buffer. Then jump to a group that's not
displayed (for instance, because all the articles have been read) with
the `j' command. The group will be inserted either at the start of the
buffer (before all topics) or at the start of one of the topics it
doesn't belong in.
In GNU Emacs 27.0.50 (build 1, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.22.11)
