Here's the saga: I downloaded 1.3.127. Configure
warned me that I had guile 1.3 and needed 1.3.4. It
kept going though, and rpm -q told me I had 1.3.4
installed. Glitch, I figured.
It compiles for a while and then I get a slew of
linker errors about "scm-blah". I know this is guile
stuff, so I look around. Long story short, I had
manually installed guile 1.3 a long time ago and
forgotten about it. Lilypond was using THAT instead
of the newer RPM version I installed.
I removed all traces of that. The guile 1.4 rpm I
found didn't have guile-config, so I reverted to the
1.3.4 rpm. Much ado. Created a manual link in
/usr/share/lilypond to point to
/usr/share/local/lilypond.
Result: Segfaults have ceased. Postscript output
seems to work. I am happy. Thanks for all the help!
