gtar-error

Greetings,

I Attempted to use gtar on a Sun server (Solaris 5.8)
to backup a Oracle DB (9IAS)
I used the following command in /backups/dbtekias:

gtar -czvf dbtekias_backup.tar.gz /orabin/cit-dbtech/dbtekias 2>&1 | tee
dbtekias_backup.log

The output file grew to exactly 2G and the following error was reported:
gzip: stdout: File too large

Please let us know how we can use gtar to handle output files > 2G
