sed 4.0.3 under Mac OS X

Hi there,

I have been porting a number of gnu utilities to Mac OS X/Darwin. When 
I last built a sed package (version 4.0.1) I only had one failure when 
running make check:

sh ./spencer.sh ../sed/sed < ./spencer.inp  |  sh | grep failed;  test 
$? = 1
*** Error code 1

Stop in /Users/marius/development/ports/sed-4.0.1/testsuite.
FAIL: spencer

Today I compiled sed 4.0.3. When I ran make check I had a second 
problem: eval. This test hangs. I deleted the eval test from the 
Makefile. On the rerun I got the same failure as in 4.0.1 above.
