No problem, you can also write to bug-gnu-gettext also if you are a bit unsure.
The mailing list is archived at

writing to it enhances the public knowledge. Some other archives of the mailing
list are also covered by web search engines, which means the next person with
the same question may find the answer simply by googling.

autopoint relies on CVS, even if no connection over the network is made.
It uses CVS for compression; without CVS it would be impossible to squeeze
the 26 past releases of the intl/ directory, each having a size of about
500 KB on average, in an archive of 300 KB in size.
