Dear GNU sed maintainers, please accept the attached patch.
I previously sent this to bug-gnu-utils; I'm told "bug-sed" is the better
address.
It modifies the sed documentation to note the sed "-E" option,
and also notes that POSIX has added "-E" to sed.
GNU sed already supported "-E" but didn't document it... so let's fix the
documentation!
Proof that "sed -E" has been accepted by POSIX is here:
http://austingroupbugs.net/view.php?id=528
I believe this patch is not legally significant for copyright, per
"http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Legally-Significant.html".
These are trivial changes and reorg. Thus, I don't think this is
subject to copyright, and I believe no papers are needed.
I disclaim all copyright, etc. I did NOT do this for my work, so no issue
there either.
Thanks!
