Unfortunately you did not include the command you ran to get that
error.  If you don't tell us and show us verbatim then how are we to
know what you did?  Please say exactly what command you ran.

Also tell us what version of GNU sed you are using.  It seems possible
that you are not actually using GNU sed at all.

  sed --version
