I have just checked in an update to play.c. I don't know about the
assert failures when using the hint window, but I could get a similar
one by doing the following:

Play a game or match. Analyse the game. Select some move in the game
and make a different play.

locateMove would try to find the move in the list of moves that the
analysis had done and fail to find it, which causes an assert failure
in AddMove. This patch appears to fix the problem.
