Sorry, but I have to disagree. I don't think it is the right approach to
tell someone who went out of their way to e-mail compliments and
suggestions that you won't read their e-mail because it is in HTML. You
could suggest this for future e-mails, possibly adding a basic reason
(99% will have NO idea), but I wouldn't punish them for this.
