My intention was to make setting the language easier in the sense of having something people can click on. You know, for the Windows users ... ;-) I don't really like the option of one or several batch files. This will only cause trouble to (and from) the not so computer-literates.

Jim had the idea of the command line option, which is actually not bad. If I have to set the LANG variable before running gnubg I need a batch file. (Sure, one can set it permanently at start-up. But this is even OS version dependant and remember the above mentioned users.) With a command line option an adjusted shortcut would be enough to run with a different language.
