Could you please _NOT_ reply to an older post when you write a new message? With people that use threaded mailers you'll get sorted in in a thread from several months ago. (And unfortunately every reply to your post, too.)

The file open/save dialogues in GTK+ 1.x are very limited. We can't do anything about that.

Finally,  in  the panel  version  I  assume  the "Details"  button  will
eventually show gammon, lose gammon etc. chances again. I find these the
most important to figure out WHY my move was best.

This will very likely come back.
