on the basis of everything reported in relation to version 12 up to now, my
feeling is that the main cause of the problems is essentially the SGIDs set in
the source

previous version of IceCat (9 and 10) did not have the SGIDs set, and there
werent errors compiling as a normal user with (from the source directory):

$ ./configure && make
$ make install
