Here we learn a valuable lesson: the difference between 3.5 (1997)
and 3.61 (today). Yes, of course I verified this fix first.
Since the modern version requires --watch, and newbies will have
modern versions by default in their new distros, I say we go with
--watch. Anybody who's still running slackware from 1998 is not a
newbie, so they'll be able to figure out how to modify this file
to suit their own needs.
