Issue 519: PDF filesize has increased between 1.9.8 and 2.10

Bitstream Vera Sans (1.1) = 64.4 kB
Verdana (2.35) = 136.4 kB

The difference is 72 kB, but since users can choose any font they like 
it may not be
worth including a sans font in the installer.

That leads me to an interesting question though, does LilyPond embed 
entire fonts or
just the subset that was used in the document?
