You will lost no data anyway. What is the reason develop some software,
if it cannot be used :) If you have no space enough to fit your data
inside new boundaries, parted will let you know.
If you want to shrink a partition, this will take some time, because
full tree traversal will be performed in order to determine, which
blocks of data and metadata should be moved.
