how to resize an extended partition? |

Hello
I have win9x and linux on my laptop, where with the following
geometry:
Disk geometry for /dev/hda: 0.000-4645.634 megabytes
Disk label type: msdos
Minor Start End Type Filesystem Flags
1 0.031 1963.828 primary FAT boot
2 1963.828 4643.789 extended lba
5 1963.859 2030.273 logical ext2
6 2030.304 4444.453 logical reiserfs
7 4444.484 4643.789 logical linux-swap
Now I want from time to time to dimish the second (extended: label 2) and to
enlarge the first (label 1) and some other time to do VICE VERSA
So I tried to dimish label 2 by:
resize 2 start 2063.828 end 4643.789
with no effect (hence I could not enlarge label 1)
I could not find this issue in the manual page (may be I missed this point)
The second possibility, shrink 1 and enlarge 2 I did not try, since I
am now a little afraid that there is somehing I did not understand.
Can anybody point me out what to read or directly help me?
