Fedora uses libparted to do all its partition table stuff.
Your symptoms are not consistent with the bug you pasted.

Also, at no stage did it corrupt the partition table in the sense of
data getting lost.  (It corrupted "boot features", if you want to
look at it that way).  In your case, you can't mount the FAT partition
in Linux.  This is a different and worse problem.
