Details:

This minimal patch (from Stephen Compall) is an important fix to be able to
save preferences at the first run (when ~/.sourceinstall does not yet
exist).

It applies to libsrcinst-2.0-rc2, and is a real must if you are not upgrading
from a 0.x version (but is very recommended in all cases).

It removes a harmful and unneeded free() in preferences.c
