[Bug-tar] Impossible loop

Hi,

 

Since tar-1.15.19.tar.gz is itself a tar file, I am at a loss for how to install the program.  It appears to need itself working before it can make itself work  - which is impossible!

 

Please then, how does one break out of the impasse?

Also, it is unclear what has to be done with the signature file,

tar-1.15.91.tar.gz.sig

 

(Computer is a P4, with WinXP.  Masses of spare RAM and HD space.)
