Well, on thinking a bit more about this, its quite it bit
more complicated than I'd initially thought.. If --skip-old-files
detects an existing file, even though the archived object might be
a directory, the existing file could be of any type, so making a
file-type distinction in the warning message based only on the
archived type doesn't really make sense (one would still need to
examine the existing object type anyway). So, my feeling now is
that the current --skip-old-files behavior is appropriate.

PS: I really think that some folks come down a bit to hard on
autotools, and I definitely don't want to go down the
cdrtools-road with tar.. sorry.
