Amazing! I would have bet money that the player would have messed
up...
Aside: MPEG-1 will compress o.k. if the original material was a
progressive
sequence. E.g. a movie converted to PAL. Compression on NTSC movies
or
video material (originally interlaced) will be poor as MPEG-1 doesn't
allow
for field-based DCT or motion compensation.
