A distinct possibility. Does wget always believe the server? If so,
then I was hoping I could make it a little more skeptical and
actually sniff the file contents before applying the .html extension.
If i'ts already that skeptical then I can't explain the behavior I was
seeing.
This is a wishlist item, feel free to shelve if you don't find it
interesting. :)
