That's just the way the list works: the poster's address is the From 
address, and the list address is Cced.

This is rather old. I'd file an update request with Fedora, because there 
have been many bug fixes and enhancements since then.

On the other hand, the file saving code seems to be the same, and just as I 
described it, so I'm no closer to understanding your bug. I suspect I need 
help from the Fedora packager.

That's definitely not the problem then.

That's because the default permissions are anded with your umask, so that 
sounds right.
