Weird.  I cannot reproduce this error, but salmonella does complain
about some things.

How are you executing test-new-egg?  The following command works for me:

  $ test-new-egg 
'https://gitlab.com/maxwell79/chicken-libxml2/raw/master/libxml2.release-info'
