Thanks. I have applied this as is but with a little different ChangeLog
entry:

       * native/jni/gtk-peer/gnu_java_awt_peer_gtk_GtkMenuPeer.c
       (addTearOff_: New function.
       include/gnu_java_awt_peer_gtk_GtkMenuPeer.h: Regenerated.
       * gnu/java/awt/peer/gtk/GtkMenuPeer.java (addTearOff):
       New native method.
       (init): Call addTearOff() when menu.isTearOff().

The idea is that the ChangeLog entry describes precisely what changed.

I am adding a AWTDemo and SwingDemo example program to our tree and will
