Thanks for your answer.

My work is completely different from phpgroupware!  bbdb is
flat-file and for emacs only.

I've recently hacked some elisp for version 2.32 and ver.6 of the database:

  bbdb-contact.el   -  mark latest contact date, schedule next contact date
  bbdb-dialer.el    -  dial a number in the record, using system
                       dialing program, North American friendly
  bbdb-vcard.el     -  snarf a vcard.vcf
  bbdb-envelope.el  -  latex-oriented envelope addressing, label
                       addressing, letter generation
