Error compiling ddd 3.3.1

dear ddd developers, i am a satisfied user of your ddd 3.3.1 on the
platforms i am maintaining (linux on pc's, digital-unix on alphas, solaris
on suns).  i have installed everywhere ddd with gcc 2.95.*.

now i have a brand new linux machine where the compiler is gcc 3.0.2; and
g++ barfs on:

i had a lot of troubles moving code that uses streambufs and friends from
gcc/g++ 2.95 to the more standard conforming gcc v3; and i want to leave
this problem to you to be solved :-)
