xpm problem on Solaris 8

I have installed gdb, xpm, and ddd from packages available on sunfreeware.com
intended for Solaris 8, which is what I am running. Gdb seems to be working
fine, but when I try ddd I get this error:
ld.so.1: ddd: fatal: libXpm.so.4.11: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed
Do you have any idea what this problem is and how I can fix it? I have
confirmed that libXpm.so.4.11 is installed in /usr/local/lib.
