I've done a bit more on this - see attached version. This prints in
LilyPond pdf what you see in Denemo, though to get it I've put the
staffs in the opposite order.
I guess to get exactly what you want you would need a 

\times 5/3 { ...........................}

around the first part (in 3/4 time) and the 5/4 time staff without any
Lilypond inserts.
