Jeremiah - I have looked through the source code and we should compile
portmidi with
PM_CHECK_ERRORS
undefined in order to avoid the portmidi library exiting denemo when it
encounters an error.
This is such a serious hazard that we should make our static linux
binary also use this compilation option. Note that it is undefined we
need, not defined to value 0 - I'm not sure what the CFLAGS syntax is
for that.
At the moment I have disabled turning MIDI on while unsaved work is
present because of the hazard.
I keep on finding things to do, and the result is we never get around to
a release. I am happy for the current git code to be labelled as our
release candidate and to stick with it unless a serious bug is found.
If you agree, can you create a new windows release candidate with the
correct version number (and PM_CHECK_ERRORS undefined) and we can start
a testing countdown of say 1 week?
