I do notice some arrows in Score Layout window with the mouse-over instruction that they move the element up or down in the layout, but they don't seem to affect the placement of the title with respect to the blank page. I looked for this item in the lilypond text but failed to find it. Is it at the end of the code?

Both of the page-break command Richard suggested work to insert a blank page.  However, they result in the title being on a page by itself and then there being a blank page and then the music notation starting on the third page. This will mean the first page of music is still a right-hand page. My goal is to make the first page of music be a left-hand page to facilitate page turning for the pianist. I've attached (if it's not over the limit--I forget what the limit is--) a pdf to show you what I mean.
Thanks for all the help,

There is a command to do this buried in the Score Layout window, but it
requires a custom layout, so there should be one in the menus.
Meanwhile, go to Score->LilyPond Score Header and paste in this

\pageBreak \markup "" \pageBreak

Which is two page breaks with a blank bit of text between (you can put
\markup \italic "This page is intentionally left blank" if you like to
indicate that it's not an error). Leave a space at the end, in case it
butts up against something else.

I haven't studied in detail to find out if this is the best syntax, but
it works.

I just tested the usual fermata command from
Notes/Rests->Markings->Articulations (with the cursor on the rest,
Shift-a, f invokes it) and it works fine ...

Did the last things you asked about work out ok? People listening-in
like to know which are valid solutions to your questions...
