It might overlap in the future, but I don't think it does now...

 It's a whole different philosophy. I assume (cannot take a look at it now)
it is just a scene graph over OpenGL. I.e., little more than a higher level
interface for OpenGL rendering.

 Panorama is not OpenGL-based. It could use it, but as a tool for the GUI. I
think we shouldn't try to compete with that kind of projects. There are many
of them (and some of them under GPL or similar), and they are all faster
than ours. If we want to do something similar, we should start by throwing
current code away and redesigning the whole API. But I think it is a
nonsense. If you want a radically different project, just make it another
project :-) I think there is place in the world for both approaches...
