An hour?
That's much. How are you building GNU Radio?

Best regards,
Marcus

PS: taking the discuss-gnuradio mailing list into CC: here; GR compile time is an interesting issue.

Alright thanks. I was just wondering if I could save the hour of compile time is all. No other reason.

Hello Rich,

No, you'll need to recompile the gr-uhd module which is included with GNU Radio. This contains C++ code which links directly to UHD.

Strictly speaking there are some releases (or development commits) of UHD which you can move between without recompiling gr-uhd, but those are very uncommon. If you run GNU Radio with a UHD block and the ABI versions don't match you will receive this error message.

RuntimeError:
GR-UHD detected ABI compatibility mismatch with UHD library.
GR-UHD was build against ABI: 3.4.0-1,
but UHD library reports ABI: 3.4.0-2
Suggestion: install an ABI compatible version of UHD,
or rebuild GR-UHD component against this ABI version

Derek

I'd like to update UHD and my images on the USRPs, but not recompile GNU Radio if I don't have to. Can I pull the latest UHD, recompile it and flash the USRPs and not touch GNU Radio?

Using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Thanks,
Rich
