GMArchiver performance problems!

Hi,
We are having a product here which runs server side on GNUtsep and Client
side on OpenStep. So to port objects from Server to Client and Vice-Versa,
we need to represent objects in Openstep/GNUstep independent format. For
which we are using GMArchiver, which comes with GNUstep.
But we have a performance problem with GMArchiver. It is taking lot of time
and space compared to NSArchiver. Especially we are concerned with time
here.
Does anybody have idea on this subject.
