Can be OpenStep thought as something like next generation POSIX (Portable 
Operating System Interface)? With the layer such as POSIX or OpenStep you get 
everything you need to develop applications. Each of them for applications 
appropriate for corresponding time (technology age).

Well, maybe the words 'next generation' are not quite appropriate. Evethough, 
what do you say?
