Well, Art also provides full AA for the drawing, which afaik is not possible with back-xlib. I didn't noticed that Art was slower than back-xlib (it was more the reverse), but it's been
a while since I used back-xlib. The most interesting option though would be a good cairo backend. -- Nicolas Roard
