Yes, this explicit management was the reason I felt it was going to be a bit 
difficult to begin with (and subject to a lot of edge cases that are 
difficult to test for).

The absolutely coolest thing would be to just pickle an entire continuation 
(if that were supported). Perhaps Stackless Python's pickle:able tasklets 
would work, though I imagine duplicity depending on stackless may not be 
realistic.
