How did you install duplicity?
python setup.py install --prefix=~/_apps/duplicity-0.5.05/ --install-lib=~/_apps/duplicity-0.5.05/
.. thereafter I edit bin/duplicity and add sys.path.insert(1,sys.path[0] + '/../') after the import sys statement in order to let it find its modules. ..ede
