usually you would just do weekly fulls with incrementals inbetween and thin out
the old backups according to the specific needs.
unfortunately that's not possible with duplicity as the purge commands are not
evolved enough to selectively delete as specific as you need.
what you could consider apart from running 3 separate backups could be backing
up into monthly folders, switching the target according to current date. this
way you would only have one backup profile to maintain and could clean up the
target folders using duplicity as you like/need.
