Sounds interesting!

ok, dvd might not be a good transport for mp3s from
computer to stereos. Just wanted to try if it would work. 

My main problem, however, is still the fact that the Sony
DRU-500A fails writing on DVD-RW with error message

Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x2C Qual 0x00 (command sequence error) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)

If this is not fixable I'll probably return the drive. I
consider DVD-R/RW more important to me than DVD+R/RW
(which, on the other hand, seems to work ok).
