Hola!
Humbly, desperately seeking help.
I have a Pioneer DVR-103 drive inside a box running the
Linux 2.4.18 kernel. I'm using the sg, scsi_mod and
ide-scsi modules (ie, not built directly into the kernel)
and have the drive's ide device (hdb, in this case) listed
in an 'append="hdb=ide-scsi"' line in my lilo.conf (which
shows up in /proc/cmdline). I can read CDs, read DVDs and
write CD-Rs without problems.
(Dummy) attempts to write an ISO9660 image from a hard disk
to a TDK 2x DVD-R, however, fail with SCSI problems which I
am not equipped to diagnose. I have tried at speed=2 and
speed=2; I have tried with and without -nofix; I have tried
dvrtools v0.1.3 and cdrecord-prodvd 2.0; the SCSI error,
however, is always the same, though it sometimes occurs
after only 200Mb and sometimes not until after 2Gb.
The error:
dvdrecord: Input/output error. write_g1: scsi sendcmd: no error
CDB: 2A 00 00 09 25 59 00 00 1F 00
status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)

Sense Bytes: 70 00 00 00 00 00 00 0E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Sadly, this is all greek to me. I will copy the complete
output of one of the runs below.
Thanks in advance for all advice provided,
m
