eLEOT 2014 - 1st International Conference on e-Learning e-Education and Online Training

18-20 September, 2014 - Bethesda, United States

http://eleot.org/

CALL FOR PAPERS

Scope

E-Learning has been adopted and endorsed by some of the most prestigious universities. Stanford, Harvard and MIT are leading the way with highly successful online course programs, congruent with a prominent movement towards universal access to quality information and education. This movement has also disrupted the publishing industry, allowing many students to access valuable research through a myriad of open access journals.

Businesses and non-profits, such as Coursera and the Khan Academy, are offering incredible courses for anyone and everyone. The London School of Economics even provides diplomas for international students via distance learning, allowing them to access the incredible human capital of their institution with the click of a button.

This conference will assess the most progressive and exciting ideas for the future of e-Learning. This is truly an incredibly valuable movement as we move towards a flatter information structure for anyone who wants to learn.

Online Track

eLEOT 2014 welcomes submissions from presenters who will not be able to attend the conference in person. To be able to participate through this track you will be required to meet the date, topic and publication requirements for the main conference. The main spirit of the online track is to “Walk the Talk”, so those participating only online will be required to create an interactive presentation that will be available through Open Course Builder. More information is available on the conference website.

Participation to this track is limited to 20 accepted papers.

Student Track

We also invite papers for a special student (Masters or PhD) track that will provide  a venue for students to present their work and receive feedback from senior members of the research community.  Student papers may include thesis plans, proposed research, as well as partial or complete research results already obtained.  Papers should clearly state the stage at which the candidate is at in their PhD or Master (i.e. number of years of study completed), and should follow the regular conference format. Each paper will be reviewed by selected members of the program committee. Please select the appropriate track when submitting your work at http://confy.eai.eu/.

Papers presented at the Student track will also be considered for a Best Paper Award. The Award is sponsored by MediaSoft S.r.l.

Panels

The first International Conference on e-Learning, e-Education and Online Training is soliciting panels for the 2014 conference. Panels give the community a unique opportunity to bring together academics and professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds to discuss a common theme.

The panel theme for this year's conference is "Shared Experiences: Bringing distributed students together to complete a common goal".

Paper Submission

Papers should be no more than 8 pages in length. Complete formatting and submission instructions can be found on the conference web site. Submissions will be reviewed anonymously by at least three expert reviewers.

Papers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. Submitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration for another conference or journal.

Submission of the paper implies agreement of the author(s) to attend the conference and present the paper if accepted. For additional information see the registration information page at http://eleot.org/2014/show/registration.
