This is my configuration for the savannah Git mirror:

So no, I don't think it is HTTP only, not for me anyway.  :-)

Yes, mainly because it needs to pull more information to get to the same
result and get a new connection for each step along the way, which also
determines how much it is "much slower".  But that's mostly a problem
for the server side unless you are on a metered service or have a
_really_ slow connection.
