No, the 3x issue is not about "static inline" versus "static".
It's about whether standard headers under Apple use
functions or macros, which is quite a different thing.
Oh, I must have misunderstood... I thought a bug in the Apple standard headers caused problems with inline functions. Sorry for the "inline noise"...
