I could go along with that, but I'm not sure what name to use.
We could either use an obscure name like `:deprecated-at-birth', or try
to guess what will be an appropriate name for the subsequent feature,
which could be `:filter' but could also be something else.

Of course, we still need to address the inheritance issue.
