That's a bit better, however magenta is a generally unpleasant color,
and I think not suited for anything except error indications or the
like.

On dark backgrounds, unvisited info links (face `info-xref') are usually
a rather soothing cyan color; while magenta4 is unreadable on a dark
background, magenta is rather strident and harsh looking on _either_
light or dark backgrounds.  I don't like it.

If it's desirable to use exactly the same color on both background
types, "green3" is reasonably visible on both, and is much less strident
than magenta.  Personally I'd prefer to use "green3" on dark
backgrounds, and something like "chartreuse4" on light backgrounds.
