I'm not able to test this patch. I've applied it and deleted
simple.elc file, but the behavior hasn't changed and the new code is
not seen from the debugger. Are there any known problems patching
simple.el file?
I have also tried this:
find ./ -name "*.elc" -print0 | xargs -0 rm --> same result
gmake maintainer-clean && ./configure && gmake bootstrap && gmake -->
same result
Anyway, wouldn't it make sense to have some value of ERROR-BUFFER
when no error buffer is created at all? Like `call-process-region'
function with STDERR-FILE equals nil --> discard standard error
output.
